The HBS Club of New York provides meaningful volunteer opportunities for HBS alumni. All HBS alumni in the Greater New York City Area are encouraged to apply. Expertise or professional experience in small business management, crisis management, State and local business guidelines and regulations, finance, real estate, e-commerce, or the restaurant industry preferred. Email email@example.com to learn more or fill out the new volunteer form link below.
The Small Business Partnership Initiative is currently seeking volunteers in three specific areas:
Group sessions bring together 8-10 small business owners or entrepreneurs virtually to obtain real-time management advice from HBS alumni-consultants and to glean valuable insights from their peers in the shared learning setting. Volunteers are needed to facilitate group discussions and provide advice to participants.
Individual coaching sessions provide small business owners or entrepreneurs an opportunity to walk through their most pressing business challenge with one or more HBS alumni-consultants and receive tailored management advice. Volunteers are needed to coach one-on-one sessions.
Several webinars on topics such as digital strategy, real estate issues, and cashflow have been developed under the Small Business Partnership Initiative. More are needed. If you have expertise or professional experience on a topic that you believe would help small business owners or entrepreneurs operate in the COVID-19 environment, please email your idea.
The unprecedented challenges New York City’s small businesses face as a result of the COVID-19 crisis are ominous. As the largest community of HBS alumni worldwide, the HBS Club of New York is uniquely positioned to help at this critical juncture.
Trained as leaders who make a difference in the world, the skills and breadth of expertise possessed by HBS alumni can help small business owners and entrepreneurs rebuild and become more agile and resilient in the face of uncertainty.
